Catching the Ox

Many of you have undoubtedly met my friend and fellow photographer David Reamer. About three weeks ago he asked if I'd participate in his photo project called Catching the Ox, in which we would both take a photo that to us exemplified a theme. This time the theme was Thanksgiving, considering the holiday was right around the corner. Below is the photo I came up with. You can see David's photo here. This morning's glimpse of sunshine got me all amped up to garden. With my large back yard, front yard, and our community garden down the street, I will certainly have my hands full this year. Check out the Saratoga Community Garden blog here.

Crime in Cyberspace

The Information Age is an exciting time to live in. I can answer any possible question I might have in seconds flat by simply typing a few words into my web search bar. Knowledge is literally at our fingertips like never before and the potential ways we could use the internet to advance education, art, and communication are seemingly endless. Endless too are the ways the web can be used to spoil such things with manipulation, misinformation, and fraud. 

Friends, my website has been hacked. Some unfortunate soul found their way into my control panel and created a site posing as an IRS refund page. On this web page you, the unsuspecting public, are asked enter all of your personal financial information and the government will kindly deposit your tax dollars into your bank account. The popularity of my site has gone up by over ten million hits since this started. If only I could gather that kind of interest with my photos!! 

I'm working on resolving the issue and getting heatherhawksford.com back online as soon as possible. In the meantime, thank you for your patience and continued support of Heather Hawksford Photography. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Photos on display at SpielWerk Toys on North Williams

If you haven't been to SpielWerk Toys on Williams yet then you have to see this place! It's full of beautifully crafted, European and American-made toys - many are made of wood and most are made of natural materials. Come by for a dose of good nostalgic reverie when you see all the best toys that you'll recognize from your own childhood. 

The photos that are hanging on the big green wall at SpielWerk are from a collection I made last fall with the amazing and adorable Miss Ruby, 4.
